My first taste of Marathon came from the Marathon 2 demo on a Macformat coverdisk. My dad had just recently bought a Performa after much insistence from me (we had Macs at my school), and it was the FPS I ever played.
Amusingly, I played the demo several times before realising the existence of the action key... I think I just thought it was a very short demo! :)
Once I worked out that the Tab key opened open the funny textured walls I was hooked. Thus the obsession began.
