Heck, back a few years I wrote a novel outline where that was the big "twist" ending... the UFO people weren't aliens but the poor abducted protagonist's greatgreatgreatgreat(etc)greatgrandchildren.

Boy, that novel sucked. I'm glad it never made it all the way through the outline stage.
