The possibility for a RED 2 would be interesting. I prefer to place the RED universe within a failed timeline (one which continues to exist, but unlike the Primary will end in chaos). That being so - I speculate what sort of universe (a "what if", elseworlds-ish scenario) would exist where the UESC had conqured the Pfhor empire - one where an unholy W'kkr-Jjaro Powered hybrid was soaring about with no Durandal or M1 Player Marine.
Perhaps with no real threat to their Hegemony, humanity would either turn to peaceful routes / or / with their military victories become a ruthless entity the likes we have never seen. Space Hitler anyone? ;)
Since this timeline is for all intents abandoned by the Jjaro - the story possibilities can get really, really dark. With no hope of redemption/Jjaro led repair, what sort of abyss could humanity take the galaxy into?
In most SF, (and to be fair, Fantasy as well) Humans are placed in spectrum of good/evil's middle. To move us on to the old mantel of the Pfhor boggles the mind with options. Given the Xenophobic nature of Humanity, I doubt most of the lesser races would survive long against military campaigns that utilize enhanced Jjaro technology.
