: I think I stated this way back when, but the recharge feature of the mace is
: a secret - many will find it, but most probably won't - unless you can
: make it work without having to look up.
Yes, that is exactly what happened with me. I had no idea the feature existed until I noticed while fighting some enemies that my shield level had increased. ?!?!!? As for making it work without having to look up, a player that is unfamiliar with the feature would only luck into it if they activated it as an overload weapon like I did. I have no idea why I did that, as I think it was just blind luck and crappy weapon management on my part. Could we not remove the overload flag on the secondary trigger so that the player would only need to use the weapon in the usual manner to see the effect? That way, they would more easily notice the recharging feature. As it stands right now, they would have to overload the weapon to see it. That is not something a player is likely to do, even with the weapon being new. On the other hand, when I encounter a new weapon, the first thing I do is try both triggers in the usual way to see the effect. I can't think of a time when I purposely overloaded a weapon to see the effect. Of course, if we did this, it would more or less remove the secretive nature of the recharge feature.
