The problem is likley with the shapes file. It sounds exactly like the problem I had with my Pfhor transport booster monster. I would shoot it, and it would fly backwards (before I fixed the physics..) in it's idle sequence.

The .hqx has to utilities. You're interested in this:
"[The] 1-10 Twiddler, which can help with the 1-animated/1-non-animated switching problem. " This app edits your shape file directly - locate the cyborgs shape slot, then sequence in question - and find out if it's set to non-animated. It's all via a text interface.
