Regarding the change from of the Pfhor texture set from M1-M2, the towards the darker version found in infinity:
Bungie Artists ascetics aside, I grudgingly admit the M2 set did look the most alien. I agree with your point about aliens seeing an different wavelength of light.
An idea:
If you had red eyes (simulate by looking through one side of a pair of 3d glasses) - RED text is very, very hard to read. A darker color, or perhaps an inverse terminal (Black text, red background) would be easier.
When this mode of though is applied to the wallpaper, so to speak... retina burning magenta and yellows likely appear as pastel tones to their eyes or simply different shades of red
By Marathon Infinity, the Pfhor texture set progress towards an organic/metallic hybrid - a trend continued onward by the Rubicon teams take on the Pfhor. I found this more realistic (a term I use loosely when describing space aliens...) because never did I read that the Pfhor grew their ships.
After looking over your Pfhor textures Forrest - I found they bear a striking resemblance to the Halo Covenant set / mixed with / the M2 'goopy' style the Pfhor exhibited. Interesting combination.
