: I am inclined to believe in the offhand postulation of one Volunteers
: contributor; that the final timeline which eludes me still was the product
: of Tycho's decision to firmly eliminate Durandal instead of gloat, leaving
: the humans irrevocably stranded and doomed without any help from the
: marine, and leaving time for the player to subtly activate a new, more
: helpful Thothandal. Does that sound reasonable to you, my little friends?
I dunno what your little friends think, but that sounds reasonable to me.
: (This, of course, begs the question as to why Tycho would behave in this
: manner, but that is perhaps a subject for individual interpretation)
Perhaps in this timeline Durandal presenting himself as a much more dangerous and immediate threat and thus Tycho did not feel he had the leeway to contain and taunt him, but instead had to simply destroy him.
: I do have a purpose in my questing, though it may seem overanalytical and
: pointless. I am unwilling, however, to state my true colours...
: I have seen far too many empires rise and fall to crow my vanties before
: their time.
Right, you're working on a new scenario and don't want to go spewing about it and have it fail and be left with egg on your face. I understand entirely. I usually give anybody else the same advice - only reason I don't follow it myself is it's no use trying to keep a 7-year-old, on-again-off-again walking undead corpse of an epic scenario under wraps when everybody already know about it, and I can get more help just making the whole project an open book...
