Perhaps I have not been as clear myself on what exactly it is that I want from this little exercise.

What I seek is to establish the chain of causality that leads to each timeline, whether it be a failure or the final success. In simpler words, what choices occured that branched each 'timeline' away? In the case of the 0 and 1, the difference is clear: The player was not abducted by Durandal and so therefore stayed at Tau Ceti, and was hence came to the Sph't homeworld as Tycho's champion. Between the other timelines the gradients are perhaps more subtle.

I am inclined to believe in the offhand postulation of one Volunteers contributor; that the final timeline which eludes me still was the product of Tycho's decision to firmly eliminate Durandal instead of gloat, leaving the humans irrevocably stranded and doomed without any help from the marine, and leaving time for the player to subtly activate a new, more helpful Thothandal. Does that sound reasonable to you, my little friends?

(This, of course, begs the question as to why Tycho would behave in this manner, but that is perhaps a subject for individual interpretation)

I do have a purpose in my questing, though it may seem overanalytical and pointless. I am unwilling, however, to state my true colours...

I have seen far too many empires rise and fall to crow my vanties before their time.
