Yes, the Pfhor staff was a major addition in terms of weaponry - the only weapon besides the fist that does not need ammo. It's surprising that no scenario since Evil has made use of it. I might also mention the nuke weapon - it had definite utility in a few select places where the player could use a couple of nuke blasts to wipe out everything in a room. One thing that is unrealistic is that you are either inside or outside the blast radius, rather than a more natural inverse r squared damage effect, but then this is probably a limitation of the game engine.
