One thing Evil did and did well was space ships/stations. The single level spin offs were some off the best in all of marathon. It also added another great feature: flames. This inspired a few mapmakers to build new "damaged" areas that looked really damaged.
The game itself would recapture the horror of the first marathon with its own little monster the devlin. Who at any given moment would run wicked fast out of some shadow letting loose some horrid noise that made your skin just crawl.
The new weapons were good and nicely done, but lacked anything that really set them apart from any other weapon. An exception was the pfhor staff. Which was a big sell point to many for this scenario.
The story was a mess and for me the only real down fall of the senario. A few levels looked plain, but still had really great gameplay. Another odd thing added in this game was the use single use textures. Like the "pfhor sucks" or bob poster. These are clearly for humor, just oddly placed inside UESC ships.
