D'oh, forgot about the Pfhor AI. (Though maybe it was the equivalent of Halo's "dumb" AIs, or even not sentient at all)

I suspect that when you have the theoretical capacity to build robot servants and still enslave other species, it's no longer a matter of practicality and is something far more sinister.
