Oh yeah, I forgot those. I believe the first manual story was in 2nd person, so that technically doesn't count, but in M2's story we get a first-person narrative. But is that really him talking, or an internal monologue? Just because he's mute doesn't mean he doesn't think.
: It's kind of also similar to Mother, where characters lose the ability to
: speak as soon as you are supposed to be playing as them, though that time
: it's mostly played for laughs. However, the Mother example does however
: have disastrous consequences in the second game of that trilogy:
And the third. The percieved rejection by Ness snowballs into literal world-ending disaster (do you share my theory that the 'dragon' is the w'rkncacncter?). But on the muteness, allow me to point to:
