In Response To: What is this 5th dimension? (VikingBoyBilly)

: If I'm being generous, I say the Marathon engine has 4 dimensions of space at

: full dimension, so only 3.5

Height is a full dimension: an object can be anywhere in the X, Y, Z space of a polygon. Otherwise rockets couldn't pass over your head.

So, to specify a unique point in a map with no overlapping polygons, you need X, Y, Z, and the number of ticks since the game started. Those are the four dimensions we're used to in meatspace.

To specify a unique point in a map with overlapping polygons, you also need to specify which polygon the point is in. 5D space.
