This assumes that Tfear knew that Durandal knew that he was going to arrive. Of course we know that Durandal knew but how did he know? Did Tfear drop out of FTL 20 hours out from Lh'owon alerting Durandal to his presence. Or was Durandal able to track Battle Group Seven while in FTL. Or did Tycho pass on this information in his gloating manner.
It hinges on Jonny's original question as to whether Pfhor FTL is instantaneous (folding) or a slower form.
I'm thinking it is slower and Tycho the psycho told Durandal that he was on his way to destroy him. On We're Everywhere, Durandal says:

Speaking of Tycho, I have detected his
presence in the Pfhor net. I assume he is
using the Pfhor's faster-than-light
communications technology to enter the net
remotely from a nearby system. His
appearance can only foreshadow the arrival
of Pfhor reinforcements.

Tfear drops out of FTL at Lh'owon (pretty much like this), all hell breaks lose, he loses half his fleet but wins the day (sort of).
