He had good reason to believe it was an advantage he didn't have in the first place. He lacked Durandal's advantage of unexpected arrival, and he would logically anticipate that Durandal had plans in case of anyone using his own tactics against him. Blindly warping straight into the Lh'owon system would put Tfear's fleet in the most likely spot for an ambush from any of several directions, using the system's planets and moons for cover.
