You're not kidding. If I had a nickel for everytime I exceeded the limits of Forge trying to shade things "realistically"...

Use shading to
: bring out map details, or to make boring stretches of wall or floor
: interesting. Otherwise, I don't use it much. The section on differential
: shading in Hastur's Workshop is about all you need to know.
