The comments weren't erased, it's just that in Archive mode, WebBBS doesn't allow the following of threads. (Seems dumb, and it DOESN'T work that way elsewhere... something's probably set wrong. I couldn't find it, though.)
Anyway, I set up a special script that mimics the main one, but doesn't allow posting - and then changed the links at jjaro.net to point to it. You can now read comments following each post.
(This isn't the same as archiving the entire discussion at jjaro.net, but it's a step in the right direction, and it took moments instead of days to implement.)
