In Response To: Re: Aleph One is good, but I need OS 9 (Reiginko)

: Only problem is, many OS9 apps don't work properly or at all in the classic
: environment. I know that Marathon does run in Classic, but there are other
: things people use their Macs for, guys (weird, I know)!

Very true - some aspects of Marathon do not work as well in the Classic Environment as in true OS 9. For example, screen flashes don't work at all in Classic - there is no evidence that you've been hit other than your shield bar going down, and the only evidence of picking up ammo is through sound. For some people, AO will never equal the look and feel of the original Marathon games, particularly with M1. And of course there are some excellent scenarios that were built on the M1 engine, such as Trojan, Phoenix Falling and the original EMR. I fear that someday the Classic Environment will no longer be supported at all and these excelent scenarios will only be playable on old computers. < Sigh >
