It's not a matter of realism - for example, I don't care if there's sound in vaccum. It's just that it feels weird and unnatural to me, not for any logical reasons like how far sound could carry. I think I'd feel similar if the enforcer firing at me were on the other side of the map - it's sometimes hard to know when you're being hit.
