In Response To: A message for Brian (butcher) It seemed pointless and dumb to be doing this on the internet. Yet here I am. I guess it is because Brian frequented this place... And the posting is more for those of us he had left behind... My heart has been heavy since I saw the news. Words failed me, and every time I thought of what to say, I couldn't bring myself to post it, the tears made it impossible for me to see what I'm typing. I have to remind myself that Brian has gone on to a better place. He is no longer in pain. I even fancied his spirit floating about free of all earthly burdens, not quite ready to leave us, watching, listening, maybe galivanting about having an adventure somewhere, all the while encouraging us all to go on and be happy. And I imagine the 'keening of silver trumpets' beckoning him, heralding his passage through the gates of Heaven, welcoming him home... And yet I am ridden with guilt... for I have never met Brian. I missed him too when he walked these halls. But somehow he had touched my heart and there he will remain. And I thank you, Brian, for allowing us to touch your heart. Godspeed. Lorraine | |
