: hoping Brain (Ar-Isildur) would be able to come on and thank all of you
: himself. Unfortunately he can not at the moment, so I wish to say: thank
: you all for your gifts, cards, emails, and prayers. Tirion and I have been
: visiting Brian in the hospital every weekend we can. He has stacks of
: printed out emails and cards. There are signed posters, stuffed animals,
: and drawings. He has love in every material form you can name. Bungie even
: came through with an amazing “care package” of their own.

: More importantly, Brian appreciates your thoughts and prayers. He and his
: family have been blown away by the support. The first week the love poured
: in; Brian was inspired to fight even harder against his new batch of
: tumors. His body was making an incredible and improbable come back that
: his family attributed to all of the good thoughts and prayers. He was able
: to come home for a brief time. He showed me some of the cards and gifts he
: had received and began crying. “I’ve just got to live...look at all this
: love” he said. “It just wouldn’t be fair”.

: The doctors are not confident in Brian making a full recovery and have let
: him decide what he wants to do. Brian said “I am going to fight”. In the
: hospital he lays now, fighting harder than ever. He and his family will
: not lose hope until the very end. In these last visits I have made; he has
: been in pain and has had trouble breathing. The cancer continues to spread
: and the doctors are trying to contain it with radiation. Through all of
: this, his mind has remained an impenetrable fortress of hope and courage.
: His ceaseless strength and optimism are truly inspiring. No matter where
: the cancer spreads, or how much bone it takes, his unyielding spirit can
: not and will not be broken. Much of this is thanks to your altruism.

: Today I received an email that Brian’s blood pressure has dropped dangerously
: low and that the doctors are having trouble raising it. Brian is in a
: delicate state now. His body is weak from fighting and he is very
: susceptible to infection. The cancer also continues to spread. I have no
: more information, but it would seem as though he has reached the critical
: stage of this three year battle. Please think good thoughts and/or send
: your prayers to Brian and his family as his fate is decided in the coming
: days. Thank you for being patient with me.

I'm blown away, and I never even really met him. I can only hope for his well-being, and I'm devastated to read this. I'm proud to have been a small part of the mass of people sending him well-wishes, and I'll direct my positive thoughts his way.

I believe strongly in the motto "Anything's possible," and I hope very much that Brian will be an example of this.

Sorry... I just don't know what to say... I can't even think right...
