In Response To: Ar-Isildur Update (SilverBrin****of WP) Don't give up! Willpower can provide incredible strength when it is needed. SilverBrin, make sure you let him know how we feel. We're all hoping for his recovery. It is not over yet! Nevertheless=--and I'm trying to find the best way to say this--if worst comes to worst, he may not make it. But many scriptures in the Bible speak of what is called the resurrection--a time set in the future when the dead will come back to life possessing all the memories they had even when they died (only this time they'll be perfect). I have only enough time right now to provide a few scriptures that help support this. John 5:28, 29: "Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice [the voice of Jesus] and come out." The Greek word translated "memorial tombs" is in the form meaning remembrance, or memorial tomb. It lays stress on preserving memory of the deceased person. These are perspons remembered by God who will have the opportunity to live forever. --Matthew 10:28; Mark 3:29; Hebrews 10:26; Malachi 3:16. Acts 24:15: "I have hope toward God . . . that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous." Both those who lived in harmony with God's righteous ways and people who, out of ignorance, did unrighteous things will be resurrected. The Bible does not answer all out questions as to whether certain specific individuals who have died will be resurrected. But we can be confident that God, who knows all the facts, will act impartially, with justice tempered by mercy that does not ignore his righteous standards. Compare Genesis 18:25. That's all I have time to post right now. I'll try to come back some time later to offer some more encouragement. SilverBrin, please keep us informed.
