In Response To: Well, if they survived on Halo (123456789)

: If they survived on Halo, then how did they get to be tech-less sots on Sol
: III? <------not sure what you mean here

To leave Halo and even get here they'de have had to have more
: technology than we do now, so we know we aren't Forerunner from the ring.

That's correct. The we can't be desendants of the forerunner in a sense that they just stopped to reproduce on Earth without an explanation. However, a disaster of sorts, like the ice age, or the activation of halo could have wiped out the species on earth. Then life began again after from organisms or larger life. Then we would need to explain why they didn't come back after. Truthfully i don't know and you raise some good points. But i do believe there is some human/forerunner connection. It's just too much of a fluke if there's not. They didn't need the resources on earth perhaps...

: And you still don't say why there aren't any Forerunner on the ring right
: now! And, if they lived on Halo, then they still would have advabced
: technology.

Halo could just be a reproducing spot. once halo is activated all the scholars ad scientists are put on the ring. They bring some of their super technology and mate and get it on. Once there are enough they go out to populate other worlds again. There is no longer a need to live on halo at hti point so everyone leaves and they put the monitor and it's sentinels in charge. They wouldn't live there because halo is not a tropical paridise. it is a scientific lab. when the work is done it is left alone until be used again. When they left halo they would bring their technology with tehm to their new home planet. And there is advanced technology on halo. We see it all throughout the game.

: To me, the unovercomeable barrior hear is to answer the question of how the
: race survived but lost the tech when the exact opposite should have
: happened.

They didn't lose technology. We just don't see it now. If they once lived there once halo was active and then left for other places that is perfectly possible. Here comes in the Earth/Human part of it. Earth was once a forerunner world. They activate halo and they get wiped out except for the nobels on halo. For some reason they don't go back to earth and then a new race is born. Humans which are desendants of the forerunner.

: And yes, I know the pulses only hurt sentient life, not technology. Consider
: 343: "The galaxy would be quite devoid of life, or at least any life
: of sufficient bio-mass and cognitive capabilities to support the
: flood." Or at least any life of sufficient bio-mass. Little critters
: and dumb critters can live, so we *know* the pulse isn't all destroying,
: it doesn't even target all life-forms just ones that are big and sentient.

yes

: For Humans to be Forerunner, it'd have to be backwards: the Forerunner's
: cities died but tney didn't.
