Not sure about 'more reserved', but some of the people saying that are some of the most gentle and the most patient people I know. : You do realize that's their job, right? No, Vagueness, that is not their job. Sometimes, rather than rushing in and making a mess, it's best to wait around and get the facts or even do nothing. There's piles of legislation that's useless or even counterproductive, because someone was waving a bill around shouting that "Something Must Be Done", but they never bothered to make sure that they were doing the right thing. That's how you get the Federal Assault Weapons Ban and "Caylee's Laws" and AB 1471 and the Hays Code. If a congressperson or an activist is waving legislation in your face, telling you that doing something is better than nothing, or that "We have to pass this bill so you can see what's inside it", take a very close look at what they want to do. : I agree, that's why (to steer this toward another big issue but a less : contentious one) education is extremely important. Sometimes, it seems like the most educated people out there are the ones who say "I want to solve all your problems for you."
