Well at least I got that aspect right, even if I was apparently wrong : about the cause. But if things are being rendered on the fly, I don't see : why they couldn't equip him with the appropriate weapon. I guess there's : some technical reason for it. I'm guessing the animations are a factor-- even if they're not pre-rendered, they might be pre-planned to a high degree, to where if the same animations were done with a different weapon it wouldn't look right. In some cases it might be kind of an artistic choice, like what the Chief does with his AR in the cutscene in the middle of 343 Guilty Spark, or having him have an AR in the cutscene close to the end of The Covenant so you have a canonical iconic moment with the Chief with his AR back-to-back with the Arbiter with his energy sword (I'd be fine with that being whatever weapon the player had before but I can see the appeal of making an iconic moment and not having people who make figures have to do a bunch of different versions).
