In Response To: Re: Yet more Halo 4 thoughts *SP* *long* *IMG* (Lurono) : Hmm... I'm curious about what you thought of them on Heroic/Legendary. I : still haven't played the game below Heroic (aside from running around on : Easy to gather remaining terminals). I've taken a poke at normal. Much more fluid, but you lose interesting gameplay challenge. So far I'm thinking it might not be a terrible compromise for promethean combat, as it's sort of boring on heroic and legendary IMO. Though I'm not sure how much I'll do it, as I'm still doubting whether I'll get much replay value out of this game. : Yeah, there were a few weapons that felt useless in the campaign. They are
Halo 1 is the only one where the rapid-fire sidearms tend to be beefy, and even then most people would consider the AR underpowered. Reach and Halo 4 are pinnacles of automatic weapons being horribly weak in campaign. : /Also: a CRT? Damn son, you need to upgrade! If it's an HD CRT, it probably gives a way better image than almost everything else on the market. Even if it's an SD CRT, it's going to be noticeably more responsive than most flat panels, and given that most 360 games are 720p and under, downscaling to 480i isn't as huge of a deal as people make out. IMO in some ways it's better than upscaling to 1080p; supersampling to reduce artifacts rather than creating new ones by making the image bigger, and areas lacking detail aren't as obvious. The biggest issue using an SD CRT for Halo right now is just that most such TV's have a 4:3 aspect ratio, and this series gives people poor FOVs when they're using 4:3.
