In Response To: AI: What games currently set the benchmark? *NM* (Beckx) I honestly don't know, maybe you guys would have a better idea. Which ones impressed you and why? People have said that the first game was innovative but was it really that different from what went before? It was in my limited experience but how do the more experienced game players here feel about it? My impression is that things have stood still in the Halo series since the first game. The changes made may have helped level designers by letting the AI task groups of units but has that made a big impression on the players' perceptions of the AI? The AI management added to Halo 3 may have been new for an FPS but seems to be the sort of stuff that RTS games have had for years before. Age of Kings had it in campaign mode. Could Halo benefit from a left for dead style AI director?
