In Response To: Personally... (cheapLEY) : Like I said, I can see why some people are upset, but some are blowing this : way out of proportion. I think that even though people will say that easter eggs are more for the thrill of the hunt I don't believe them. Yeah its great fun looking for an egg but if people know its been found then its no more a discovery but a personal challenge. A discovery can be huge with fame and glory! A personal challange is no fun. Imagine someone saying (in two weeks) 'I found the pelican without any help!' Everyone would just be like 'yeah whatever, old news n00b' and where is the fun in that. The people that are complaining are (probably) the ones who wanted the fame and excitement of a new discovery. New being important. Personally finding hints throught the games code seems far more impressive than a 100 hour man search. I think the reason people are mad is because: Finding an egg is like a contest, the opponent may beat you and you have to go "nice job dude!" when inside your like "Yeah you just won because of... (insert reason here)". Same with an easter egg. But when someone does something unique, unheard of, or different to win, the contestants are like "wait! Thats not in the rules! How can he do that!" Even though to people not participating it just looks like another way to win. I think its the same with an easter egg. Everyone want's to win and will look for escuses the call the winner a cheater or loser for their own ego. Very sad. But hey its human nature and no-one will read this post anyway. Opinion over.
