I disagree. The forerunner are the feel of Halo (they built it after all). I find them to be one of the most fascinating pieces of the story, and it's the forerunner architecture and technology that really makes the story and feel stand out. The Human and Covie aspects of the game would just be another space marine shooter. My favorite parts of the Halo games were where you felt alone, fighting in forerunner facilities against the forerunner's enemy. I'd love to see them fleshed out in a meaningful way. I just don't want to see the forerunner of that awful ensemble MMO concept.
