The only bit of this that is relevant is "if you are not willing, I will find another." In other words, the judgment of an individual Reclaimer means nothing. If one refuses, he finds another. That, at minimum, is true. Beyond that, Keyes is obviously being coerced, and Spark only issues a warning that she is fragile-- not that she needs to be a willing participant, or that they should find another, or that the ring doesn't need to be fired. Just that she's delicate, unlike other Reclaimers. Either he's being sexist or just remarking that Keyes doesn't have mjolnir armor. No, there's Tartarus in possession of the Index prior. Is he supposed to have it? 343GS didn't even allow the Master Chief to carry it because he was prone to infection. Although we never see infected Brutes, I'm unaware of them being immune. Why doesn't GS mention that? I think it's lack of interest again. Delta isn't his responsibility. However, I do not believe that the actual acquiesence of a Reclaimer is required. It may be preferable, but it is not required-- at least not by the monitor. It is speculation, but something tells me that if the Chief was really the last human alive on the ring, GS would have attempted to force him to activate, knowing that a Reclaimer is required and no others were available. I think it is right to question the wisdom of how such a system is arranged, but it's hardly the only remaining question in that area. | |
