I'm a bit surprised by this. :) Speedrunning isn't about killing all the enemies (stylishly or not), or even most of them. It's only about speed, and whatever interesting tricks you can use to increase the speed, whether it be popping through a texture or triggering a cutscene early.

It seems you're talking about something totally different. If we started having contests to finish a level the fastest, leaving no enemies alive, I think it would be more what you're talking about, because it would require people to use imaginative and skillful ways to destroy all the enemies, where speedrunners really aren't concerned about any enemies except the ones they MUST kill to continue the run.
