That's assuming that the Fist's technology is reproduceable by the Covenant. It may not be.... I suggest this because the Fist is a fantastically sophisticated doohicky lashed on the end of a stick, which doesn't exactly scream "precision engineering" to me. Everything else we see used by the Covenant has a lot of concern for esthetics inherent in the design, but the Fist is just a brute-force (pun intended) repurposing of a Forerunner gadget. Maybe they couldn't (or wouldn't) reverse engineer the head of the Fist... it's entirely possible that the only way they could work with it would risk its destruction, and I could see the Brutes taking no chances with their holy artifact even with their pragmatism. -- Steve's wondering if this is yet another hint about how the Covenant handles Forerunner tech. |
