The only question i have is the gaint robotic sentienal factory. There is no mention of it that i can find. if you are telling me the factory where you kill the heretics then you are wrong. The mines were never meant to be moved or anything. It was a floating station collecting resources (possible for halo?) or converted stations studying the flood. In the event of a outbreak, the station can be released and the gravity of Threshold would crush the station to bits and tear it apart (including the flood).
