But I jest about anger. The answer to the Flood is more of an instance of "Synthetic Hosts," aka. ones that could not survive with out the Flood "ranger" being embedded inside of them. If the Flood have no need to kill living hosts then they most likely won't. It seems to be a simple answer to a very complicated problem. The Forerunners were blind in their beleif that the Flood must be stopped. Instead the Flood should be nourished and supported so that they might advance beyond their parasitic state. We can't hold them back from reaching the Symbiotic Nirvana. As a Parasite, they slowly destroy their Host bodies over time, If a synthetic "Vector" that was instead of destroyed but Nourised by the Flood were created, then they would increase their own life span. It is generally held that they live forever, I disagree with this however and think that they were only held in stasis on the Halos so that later races could study them. The idea of having the Halos on a Hair Trigger in order to keep the peace is a drastic version of the barely "Cold War" of the 20th century. It is inviting some nut bag to just press the button and kill the Galaxy. The Flood could not continue to devour the Galaxy forever untill it was devoid of life, since it would eventually starve to death. The Flood want peace just as much as the rest of the Galaxy does. The enemy that must be conquered is Truth alone. He is the last bastion of Evil in the Galaxy, even the other Prophets do not know of the truth in "Containment." Try not to fool your selves, it has at last begun. Truth will Perish, and all will see the light, I only hope that the light is the false truth and not the End.
