In Response To: No way that's the longest. (DanteThePoet) Hey, I'm confused, myself. It's merely a point of view. I just thought of it yesterday, anyhow. It all got pieced together as I went along. Now, as for the Hunter getting that armor, they could form a symbioticism with a metal or something. It's not totally unheard of. I mean, what is a carapace? Hardened skin? If they can't integrate, they can innovate. If by this point the hunters were sophistocated enough to have a culture (the Halo books document hunters as intelligent, and they have a religeon, of sorts.) They could create their own armor. That would explain why they were so powerful. The armor design is their own. This is why elite armor isn't like that, kids. They could have a special connection to it, like an exoskeleton, or organic grafting of sorts. This would explain why they annhialated the Elite forces easily on the ground. Their armor is superior. But when threatened with the Orbital bombardment of Doom scenario, they signed on with the Covenant. Then the other races helped to graft the heavy fuel rods onto the hunters, because they could wield them easily. The spines on the hunter's backs are organic. They can be moved. If youhappen to find a hunter in Halo 2, yet it hasn't spotted you, it goes between sticking it's neck out and standing up to its 12 foot height (this is a good time to get a neckshot, too.), and then it will contract into an 8 foot tall combat stance, and their spines go up. In the books, some people were (concievably) slashed apart by hunter spines alone. The Hunters also probably developed a spinal chord to give them a structure. All those worms would have an easier time supporting. And in the fiction, there was at least one part where the Cheif rips through a hunter's spinal chord (it actually state that their spinal chord was sliced open by bullets.). The hunter armor is probably too heavy for other races, anyhow. So the crafty crafters compile the armor into that massive shield and wala. Sorry if my speeches aren't that coherent. I'm not even in high school yet. I'm not the best english student, either. | |
