Halo ideas...

It would be quite interesting - and serve nicely to keep players
sharp - if Halo used realistic damage tracking (ala Rainbow Six).
Equally cool would be the ability to use custom skins in certain
multiplayer (non-campaign) scenarios. Aside from the fan creations,
Bungie could make available skin packs from Oni and the Marathon
series... and maybe license from various other places...
Also, some might want to make a comparison between the Covenent aliens and StarCraft's Protoss (picture: http://www.battle.net/images/broodwar/pix/wall/protprev.jpg). Another licensed skin pack idea?
