Woah woah woah..... Nuh-uh... look again... guys, like I said in photo-realism threads... Halo is missing ALOT of stuff to even come CLOSE to Softimage, or Maya, or 3DSMAX, or even lower cost stuff like Bryce and Poser... not just on the rendering level either.. Modeling (no way in hell they have realtime NURBS rendering...), Animation, object scripting, Halo might have good IK and Physics, but a bit of time with Softimage will easially equal and certainly better it...

let the halo engine do what it was BUILT to do... it isn't the solution to everything, the same way that you wouldn't use RenderMan for your realtime game rendering, you wouldn't use Halo's renderer for a movie..

Cutscenes are a different story... although, a Halo-rendered cutscene would be a bit of a gyp... you'd see all this great "in-engine" stuff in promos, and it turns out when you buy the game that the REAL game engine looks like crap... ugh.

You could licence it out so that us 3D Animation/Game Programming students could use it as a learning tool... then you could hire them (me)...
