Well, there could always factions of canonicity when the major authors change hands to newcomers. I think the real concern there was exactly how much of the unpublished notes or guidance were respected with the pre-MS people gone.
That whole thing with the Traveler seems like a link to the Myth world, or something, but that was first cemented back when Staten and Jones were yet there.
I dunno; I have no astute observations to share, as I've not really had much interest in the Destiny franchise. Good to see that they at least did a decent amount of research on the Marathon story when making reference to a piece of it.
It is, of course, quite possible that they are simply stocking their universe with universe with imagery that broadens the customer appeal. I'd venture that's what happened with the Kekism thing.
