not at all! remember that "All late-model Pfhor personality constructs were based on sixty-four billion exobyte images of Tycho's core, taken during the years he was on the Pfhor homeworld between 2795 and 2801 AD." (M2 Final Screen). there must be plenty of Tycho clones out there, considering that ten thousand years later "Many of these crippled clones of Tycho still exist today on old Pfhor colony worlds.", long after the Pfhor became "a dim memory".
and even if a "crippled clone" of Tycho is not enough, and Durandal refers to a full-blown traitorous extremely-rampant reprogrammed human AI with no sense of humor... well, AIs in the Marathon universe have a knack for resurrection, don't they?

still don't agree. i had forgotten about Tycho, but i think my explanation makes enough sense: he's either a clone or he played hide-and-seek for a couple of levels in M2, only to resurface outside the space station. and anyway Durandal is just guessing, hasn't contacted Tycho at all. the nearby ship could easily be Commander Tfear writing his last message to the Pfhor High Command, on a Tycho clone term ;)
oh and one more thing: the W'rkncacnter is already acting up, so reality should be quite shaky by now. it's a storyteller's trick, but you could blame anything on the chaos beast.
