: Yeah, I saw a bit of a rocking action going on in one part off your movie. To
: do it Hunter after Hunter is a mental thing. I could never hack it. I was
: always looking for the quick way off a level. I'm looking forward to Cody
: Miller's speed run.
: Anyways I'm sure it was Jim Mitchell. It might be the one on the Vip tip page
: for Bob-B-Q or in his complete vid pack for M1. Actually they may be the
: same film. He also saved enough Bobs for Leela. =)
I downloaded and watched both his Bob-B-Q videos (it was the video on the tip page you were thinking of). I see what he was doing with the Hunter punching, instead of doing a run-punch for each right and left stroke, he was run-punching to the right and jabbing them with his left as he backpedaled. Clever, as there is no way in those tight corridors to do a right then left run-punch. Not that there is much point in my getting better at Marathon at this point, but technique added. Thanks for the referral!
I also noted that he saved enough Bobs by simply avoiding certain areas of the map. I don't know, not killing everything always leaves me feeling...incomplete. I am also an ammo hoarder. ;)
Speaking of punching the daylights out of things, this discussion reminds me of some fellow from BITD who was dubbed the Jug Puncher. My brains may be scrambled, but I think his name was Dr. Richard Head, well it was Dr. something or other. When I was a wee Marathon-er I found his videos quite inspiring. :D
