| Why i was called Monkey ... kinda funny **OT** | |

In Response To: Kinda stupid really... Rambling (Pico) Well ..... Being a Zoology Student ...i have worked with Wild Animals on more than one occasion . I have worked in both Zoo's and in the Field in the Sumatran Rainforrest . While in Indonesia (Sumatara) ... i spent 2 weeks working in an Orang-utan and Sumatran Rhino Sanctaury in the middle of a national park in the middle of a rainforest in the middle of the Island . There were native people working there aswell . One of my duties (besides watching and taking extensive notes of Rhino behaviour all day) was to help in the feeding of the Wild Orang's which used to come in . This is really for the beniffit of tourists but the large orange Apes also get free food . Anyway when we fed the Orangs wild Monkeys would also come in to try thier luck and steal food . While stopping one from stealling a handfull of Figs i was SAVAGLY BITTEN .IN A Fit of RAGE I kicked the monkey who fell several meters of of the feeding platform . HE WAS OK BUT I WAS COVERED IN BLOOD AND HAD TO HAVE SEVERAL INJECTIONS OVER THE NEXT WEEK. From that day untill i left i was known as Monkey by the native people .Taht was six years ago and i have used it as my tag ever since . I have been bitten and attacked by many species over the years and keep a list for prosperity . Mike ... aka Monkey | |
