In Response To: Re: I Need Your Help. (Ar-Isildur Update) (Major Tom) First of all... I just want to say that this news hit me hard when I first heard it. The previous owner of the house I sit in now was a frequent church-goer and devout Christian. I attended the same church as he did and saw him every Sunday. He gave so much to this community in the form of a spiritual voice on a local radio station, but it all came to a halt when he died of esophogial cancer. I see a parallel with Brian -- he gave so much to this community. But I pray fervently that Brian's story has a better conclusion -- that our hopes, our prayers, and our suffering alongside him will help him free of his sickness. With that in mind, let me quote 1st Corinthians, chapter 12, verse 6: "So if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it." Let us in this way stick with Brian in his time of struggle so that we all may be glad when he makes it through this. We may also take heart: I am lead to believe that Brian is a Christian. These words from 1st Peter 2:20 are poignant now: "For what credit is there if you endure when you sin and are beaten? But when you do good and suffer, if you endure, it brings favor with God." Be strong in knowing that Brian will recieve his just reward for his pain in Heaven the (hopefully far in the future) day when he passes on. Finally, I leave you with words from Romans 12:12: "Rejoice in hope; be patient in affliction; be persistent in prayer." The power of joy, patience, and prayer will help us all -- especially Brian and his family -- make it through these darkest of days. Trunksage |
