: Anyway, read those — they're good. By his definition, I am, and always will be, a scrub - and I'm happy with that. I see games as games, not as warfare. I play them to have fun, not to win, per se. (Winning isn't bad... but I'm not crushed if it doesn't happen.) This takes nothing away from what he wrote - I agree with most of it, as far as it goes. (He's talking about playing to win - that's not something I bother doing most of the time. At least, not when I'm playing games.) In fact, the only thing I'd seriously disagree with in those articles is the idea that scrubs are naive - my eyes are wide open; I'm a scrub because I want to be. I don't want to work hard enough to become expert at the game - I just want to have fun. You won't find me at national competitions - just local lanfests. :) | |
