Yes. Many people confuse the political/religious overlap between Grunts, Jakcals, Elites, and Hunters for biological overlap, when it is fairly obviously from morphological appearance, these groups constitute separate biological species. We also don't see any cross-bred aliens like Hunter-Grunts.
