: idea behind the main purpose of my original theory.
That in itself is two kinds of evolution. Your Covenant would have originated from a common biological ancestor and spread apart into the extremely varied species we see now, not at all comparable to the formation of different human cultures, which is SOCIAL evolution, and took place far more rapidly. Keep in mind that despite cultural differences, Africans and Europeans are exactly the same species, whereas the Covenant have clear species dichotomy. If there WAS a common ancestor, it was far in the distant past- we're talking many millions of years ago.
