I wish I had noticed this sooner

I remember vaguely in a review / update somewhere, it being mentioned that the level of detail on the shells were amazing. And that the brass plate actually showed the indent from the firing pin, and the review/update made some mention of an internal bungie reference. Of course, not having an xBox, and having various things that wouldn't let me ignore them (girlfriend, class, projects, etc.) I wasn't able to partake in the search. But I thought I would point out some of Matt's "hints" i found in the updates, which make more sense now. From a quick search on the halo updates archive for "hippo"

Much work has been done on things that, as Rob put it, you shouldn't notice at all: LODs for hand grenades, the needler, a collision volume for the shotgun. That sort of thing.

Rob is working on the shotgun, which started as a 12-gauge and is now roughly a 7- or 6-gauge; it fits better in your enormous hands that way. The shells are one inch across their face. The gun is still untextured and Stephen is still working on animations for it, but it's in the latest builds and looks fantastic.

If I had thought of this sooner, I would have mentioned it. But hindsight is 20/20 right?

(specifically, from the above posts, Matt seems to really like the shotgun, hence his love for the hippos, the ammunition and inside joke. You're not vain at all Matt ;-).
