In Response To: Slipstream space question *SP* (Jeff) I understood that they couldn't controll where they wind up exactly - like, within about a light-second (this is supported by the amount by which the slipspace probe is off in FoR, that being about 280,000 kilometersif memory serves). The fact that slipspace jumps are apporximately controllable is supported by the fact that you can calculate vectors for it. Evidently, they can be aimed, you just can't aim precisely. I mean, why target something that'll dump you out wherever the heck it wants to… Anyway, the more practical question is, why would starships use it as an intersystem travle method (as they evidently do)? f'get it. I'm rambling |
