: Sooo it's a home made costume, but unlike most of them, this happens to
: feature actual body armour, using elements from PinnacleArmor's Dragon
: Skin concept.
: ie, and "overlapping series of high tensile strength ceramic discs
: encased in an aramid textile cover"
: Although it claims Level III protection (actually claims its higher in the
: description), that will undoubtedly not be certified, and so is completely
: misleading. A false claim. :P

: PinnacleArmor themselves have had all sorts of bother with certifying the
: stuff and its been all very controversial, with it failing various tests
: by the US military and being downgraded from Level III to Level II
: protection.
: So I imagine this is meant to have been made out of numerous PinnacleArmor
: SOV-3000 vests, which the manufacturer claimed gave Level IV protection,
: but was never independently tested and verified.

: Interesting idea, though when we start talking about making actual armour
: with a Halo design, there are obvious flaws. Like how the stomach is
: unprotected.
: I still have a genuine bit of British Army kit in the form of an Enhanced
: Combat Body Armour and that has 2 great big bloody 1 inch thick plates
: over the spine and chest.
I always assumed the underskin of the Spartan's suits was pretty bullet-resistant. The lack of rigid armor was the tradeoff for being far more free in their range of motion.
