I just got a new computer than can actually play video games, and I was going to get Halo 1 just to have the ability to play it online since that's the only way to do so (since 343I saw fit to not add H1 MP to HCEA). Of fucking course this would happen. So now it looks like LANs are the only way anyone will ever be able to play Halo 1 MP... ever. Because at this rate it looks like Halo 1 will be the one pre-XBL FPS of note to not have a console re-release without online MP. Doom got it. Perfect Dark got it. Quake got it. Duke Nukem 3D got it. Marathon got it. Goldeneye 007 most likely would have gotten it if it weren't for the rights dispute between Nintendo and MS. But Halo 1 may well never get it. What a lovely fate for the game that made the Xbox brand possible.
