When it first came out, it felt too different from Bungie's style for me. As time went on, with more and more non-Bungie Halo stuff coming out, it's actually became one of the more Halo-spirited entries in the EU to me. One of my big complaints is towards the end of production, they decided to color-code the UNSC and Covenant. The earlier screenshots showed faithful color designs, but by shipping they had made UNSC all-green and Covenant all-pink. This takes me out of the universe when I play. I'm also not a huge fan of their Mark IV design. Instead of going backwards or taking cues from the Mark V (see Reach), they took cues from the Mark VI and actually made the Mark IV look MORE advanced than its future iterations. The helmet would be an exception, though. Other than those two things, I pretty much like everything. The Spirit of Fire is a pretty ship, and the Gremlin, Grizzly, Hawk, Locust, Vulture, Wolverine, and other vehicle designs are all very cool and Halo-ey. I would have loved to have seen them in a FPS Halo game. How cool would it be to see a Vulture launching missiles off in the background while you're fighting in New Alexandria? I guess this could still happen in the future.
